Choosing to have Advanced Esthetic services is a fun and exciting decision. It can also come with a lot of questions. Listed below are some of the most common questions. If you feel your questions are related to your skin type, a complimentary Skin Health Assessment is the best place to start.
What is the different between a Clinical Facial and a regular Facial that I have had at a Spa? The main difference between a regular facial and a clinical facial is the products being used. In a clinical facial there are medical grade ingredients being used which are blended and mixed at the time of the treatment. These ingredients are active and contain pure powder forms of essential Vitamins that work at the deeper dermal level of the skin. Clinical facials focus on “feeding the skin” topical nutrition to keep the skin healthy long after the treatment.
I have heard a lot about Skin Needling lately but I am afraid of needles, does this treatment hurt? Will it leave marks on my skin? Skin needling is a natural non invasive skin rejuvenation treatment, also known as collagen induction therapy. The dermal roller used has tiny needles that puncture the skin creating a natural wound healing response, similar to Acupuncture. These microscopic needles help to stimulate collagen, releases powerful growth factors, and helps with various skin conditions like acne scarring, fine lines, and pigmentation. Continued treatments of Skin Needling will create a significant change in the overall appearance and health of your skin.
After having my baby my skin has not been the same. What can I do to get my skin back to normal? During pregnancy your body goes through many hormonal changes. These changes can affect the skin during, after, and can be continual if not addressed. Acne, melasma (brown patches), and early signs of aging are all normal during pregnancy. If you are experiencing these conditions after your pregnancy and they are bothering you there are many non invasive options to help.
Why is it that skincare products work so well in the beginning and then stop working a few months later? A sad but truthful fact is that 90% of the time the ingredients in your skin care products are actually working against your natural skin physiology, resulting in decreased immune function, and speeding up the aging process. These products can work at first, though, only until the skin has time to start eliminating the foreign ingredients. The easiest way to know for sure is to bring in your current skin care products to ensure that all of the ingredients listed on the label are working for your skin and not against it.Katelyn has extensive experience in product ingredient development and can easily help with this step.
I’m getting married next year, how long can it take to get my skin to look its very best? The time frame for getting your skin to its optimal health is based on the current condition of your skin. If there is “correction” to be done, for example acne, pigmentation, scarring etc the timeframe will be longer. Ideally 3-6 months before a big occassion will give the skin enough time to fully experience the full results of these powerful treatments.
